BTS won Artist of the Year at the 52nd American Music Awards, held Monday night in Las Vegas, reaffirming the strength of the group’s fanbase despite its recent pause in group activity because of military service.

• This is the second time BTS has won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, following its previous win in 2021.

• Katseye won New Artist of the Year, beating a competitive field that included Sombr, Olivia Dean, Ella Langley, Leon Thomas, and Alex Warren.

• Sombr did not leave empty-handed, winning Best Rock/Alternative Song for “Back to Friends” and Best Rock/Alternative Album for “I Barely Know Her,” in addition to Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist, which was announced off-air.
